Chimney cake / Kürtos Kalács was originally baked over hot coals by Hungarians residing in Transylvania, Romania – the home of the legendary Dracula.

Ingredients:
500g flour,
1 egg,
2 egg yolks,
8 spoonfuls of icing sugar,
10g yeast,
25g milk,
100 grams of butter,
salt
Preparation: Mix the flour with the eggs, the egg yolk, 6 tablespoons of icing sugar, 80 grams of melted butter, melted yeast and a pinch of salt. knead well. When half risen, cut into slices (as described above). Roll the strips onto a wooden roller. Grill slices of risen dough over charcoal. When surface begins to brown, brush with melted butter, repeat several times. When finished, dust with caster sugar.
